We started out with lasers back in the days when no one had heard of a computer. Everything was big and powerful. Huge laser systems requiring 125amp per phase with 20 litres of water every minute, super heavey transformers and pass banks that looked daunting. Slowly computers atarted appearing in the market which significantly boosted what we could actually do with lasers. As we approached the millenium the Diode laser was born and the DPSS followed. Now things were a lot different. Laser systems became small compact units requiring only a few amps single phase to run them. No more water was needed. Everything became plug and play.
